Have you ever heard of “muscular dystrophy”? It is a disease and describes a progressive muscle weakness which can affect all the muscles and start at an early age. The symptoms can sometimes be treated, however the disease today is still incurable and sometimes ends tragically after years. Worldwide doctors and scientists are searching to find a cure.

Why are we telling you all this? Because Harley-Davidson has gotten involved with the fight against this insidious disease since 1980. Since that date dealers, customers, employees, suppliers and H.O.G. members have collected $65 Million for the American Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). The German H.O.G. Charity has followed this example and is present on all big Harley-Davidson and motorcycles events.

In order to support this worthy cause and generate more funds, Harley-Davidson Germany has decided to organise the Friendship Ride. This event will take place on the Wasserkuppe in the Rhön region right in the middle of Germany from August 12th till August 14th. 75 % of the proceeds will go to the “Deutsche Gesellschaft für Muskelkranke (the German Muscular Dystrophy Association ) and 25% to local charitable organizations.
